Furniture makers , clock makers , blacksmiths … Fewer and fewer people understand the art of old skool craftsmanship, which requires a pair of big callused hands, smart thinking and a creative mind. This craft is also needed for building choppers like the way they used to do it way back. Those days, there were no shelves packed full of ready-made chopper-parts… let alone AutoCAD and CNC machines.
L&L Choppers believes that traditional craftsmanship should never be lost. Because… what is more unique than a hand-fabricated bike? Here are some photos from a homemade tank for Jacques’ Softail and the fabrication of a coil cover with a power hammer. Check Craftsmanship for more photos.

For customer Krijn we created a Custom handlebar. We adjusted the brake and clutch levers 1201264SP–1201265SP so they can be secured through the handle.
In the levers we have drilled holes and cable are guided through the steering wheel, the handles are made suitable for internal gas 1601402. This is a double bearing implementation.
Frank’s Buell has had a complete metamorphosis. From one extreme, a naked racer, went this American to the other extreme, a chopper! However it hasn’t lost any of its aggressiveness. The hardtail racer with streetfighter look is finished and for this we are in the Brabantse Rijen for Frank’s first ride and photos.

Here are the pictures of the L & L stand in Rosmalen. We enjoyed the good atmosphere and the show this year!
The cheapest way to provide your original Harley with a thick fork is by using the Cheap Fatso from L&L. This set, which consists of extra-thick triple trees and bold upper and lower covers, is in fact easy to combine with the standard Harley inner and lower forks. So you retain your original front fork but replaces your original triple trees by ours, including covers.

30820b – The set mounted with a 39 mm fork (sportster, dyna, ed ed)
30820c – The fork mounted with a 21“ wheel
Jeroen has been nearly a quarter century devoted to custom bikes. A Harley has always been his dream and finally the circumstances allowed this to happen. A bobber speaks to him the most and at L & L Choppers his dreams became true!

Lourens came with a request to build a highneck chopper. It had to be a big bike with a genuine seventies styling. The base is a L&L hardtail frame with a solid single backbone. In the extremely high triple trees there is a long L&L springer mounted, that will take you back to the times of sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll.
Because of reliability many customers want modern Harley-blocks such as the Sportsters, Evo and Twin Cams. However Lourens went completely for the old skool look and the choice was for a characteristic Shovelhead with a kickstart transmission. At L&L we find that really cool to build!
It’s all in the details: the sissy bar has the same angle as the fork. For the tank is elected a Jesse James copy that makes the machine look even higher. The oval tank is chosen from our catalog. A low steering wheel and a set of beautiful spoked wheels makes the look complete. In the rough build Lourens’ highneck looks already great. And after completion?
