We’re putting the finishing touches on the structural work. For example, we have put together a sporty steering wheel with matching handles and a cover plate with hole pattern for the retro jumper. The battery box, petrol and oil cap in the same style, license plate with a Hotrod taillight.
At the request of the customer, the air filter and the ignition coil are fitted with covers. To place the start button and ignition lock, the electrical box is located under the oval oil tank. Chamber bushes have been used for the headlight support, with the heads of the Allen screws nicely recessed.
The reporters of the former French Chopper magazine Wild have been involved in the Custom culture for some time now.
Inspired by this scene, they have designed a book containing Hightech, Old skool, Hotrod and other true pieces of art.
During the layout they spotted the Triumph board tracker on Facebook and it has been immortalized in the book with beautiful photos. We are happy with these reporters who, with knowledge of the facts, appreciate our work.
For the enthusiastic customer Heiko we started with the structural work. His wish is to use hole patterns on the forward controls, battery box and mounts. Furthermore, an oval oil tank and a sporty tank with an extra deep tunnel which gives a fast look.
This beautiful bike won an award at the Bigtwin show in the category Freestyle and is soon to be featured in the magazine. In the spring, the boardtracker will also be featured in the book by Horst Rösler (HRF motographer) from Germany and in the French RadiKal Custom Artworks book.
The frame is back from the painter and the engine has been thoroughly overhauled, which is necessary when the engines are a bit older. For the technical part, the engine has been completely disassembled and all irregularities have been repaired. For the look we polished a large part of the engine, sprayed the cylinders and finished with chrome accents and we used a home made ribbed primary case. Now the assembly can begin!
The structural work of the Triumph Boardtracker is completed. As you can see it consists of a lot of parts, many of them will be chrome plated and the parts that needs to be painted can be blasted and put in the epoxy.
We have opted for a dark color blue. The block will be disassembled, then polished and then the cylinders gets painted. As the cream of the crop, some rib covers will be made for it.
Out of curiosity Rik visited the open days in the shop in Rijen. Once inside, while enjoying a cup of coffee, he saw the Boardtrackers.
The thing is Rik had still a little project laying around, a Triumph and after weeks of bad sleep he wanted to do something with it. He decided that he wanted to build a Boardtracker with his Triumph.
When delivering the engine, Rik indicated that he would like to be surprised, this is obviously very risky, because then the bucket of inspiration and creativity at L&L flows over! A must is the 23 inch narrow rims and tires with line profile, the 30’s tank and a special springer.
